Derek
James' original pop/rock music - in the vein of Jack Johnson,
Tom Petty, Coldplay and Josh Rouse- has taken him from Australia
to Southern France, and this October he'll hit the road throughout
the US opening for Geffen recording artist Matt White. Since 2004,
James has been making his mark on NYC with a sound that's truly his
own.
Derek was a finalist in the 2005 Williamsburg Singer/Songwriter Competition
and in 2006 was a finalist in the The New York Songwriter's Circle
Songwriting Contest.
He has played to packed houses in NYC at Piano's, Arlene's Grocery,
Rockwood Music Hall and The Knitting Factory and opened for artists
such as Blues Traveler, Sugar Ray, OK Go, Jesse McCartney, Moe, and
Ben Kweller.
Derek will be showcasing at NACA this fall at Central and Northeast.

"The Bloodsugars raise
yours, in a good way, with their sweet, bouncy synth-pop." (TONY)
"The New York band has inherited the lighthearted heartaches of The
Cure, Elvis Costello's crooning rockabilly, with still enough room
for some Hall and Oates and anarchist punk action. . . . Live, these
guys exude an irresistible energy. "(Deli Magazine)

Jeff
Schram was almost an accomplished classical guitarist
until he met a redhead in a Chicago blues bar.
"A refreshingly high-energy performer, Schram's music
is super high-octane for a one-man show. Schram plays rock rhythms
with intelligent, intricate chord development. Scattered softer tunes add
a delicate underbelly and mix to his well-rounded repertoire." - JezebelMusic.com,
NYC"
Now in NYC, Jeff has released his first full band, studio EP, "Devil Ain't
Got A Chance".
"
The
songs move you to dance, and then move you to start the album all over
again. Schram comes off fragile yet powerful, as his well-orchestrated
compositions blend into each other as a cohesive statement of passion,
desire and drive. A hell of a singer/songwriter"

Matt Singer has a sense of tragedy. He also has a sense of humor.
Using his sixth sense for songwriting, Matt brings crafty lyricism and
a warm sound, placing his listener around a campfire, in the middle of a city street. Incorporating social commentary and a healthy dose of silliness, he "writes protest songs that are serious without taking
themselves too seriously" - Village Broadsheet
Matt's love for storytelling manifests in the authentic characters that live in his songs. His last full-length release, entitled All Us Heathens was described as... "Bringin' It All Back" meets "Fear of a Black Planet" meets "A Prairie Home Companion." Yes, this is one complex package. "The lyrics jump, the genres drift, and "All Us Heathens" is highly recommended." -Urban Folk Magazine
A proud Brooklyn resident, Matt recently signed with Family Records, the label that will release his next album, due out in Spring 2008.

New
York City's The States are a rock band born of the creative
tension between brains and brawn, between perfectionism and punk,
so it is no surprise that the songs on their latest release, The
Path of Least Resistance (2007), are packed with melodic and rhythmic
ideas, catchy and intelligent in equal measure.
Frontman Chris Snyder,
bassist Pete Connors, and drummer Joe Stroll possess a rare musical concoction
of intellect, power, and melodic instinct.
"...aggressive,
melodic indie-rock." Time
